Hallo allerseits!!
Letztes Wochenede fand in Bad Goisern der diesjährige Winterkurs statt. War ein tolles Wochenende - erstmals mit Solocompetition.
Einen besonderes Lob an den Sonni, der wirklich großartige Arbeit leistete mit dem ganzen Organisatorischen (Preise, Presse...) 
Danke natürlich auch an alle Lehrer - die trotz beinahe schlafloser Nächte wiedermal tolle Arbeit geleistet haben 
Das größte Lob gebührt allerdings allen, die bei der Compeittion mitgemacht haben!!!! Congratulations an jeden einzelnen Teilnehmer - ob er/sie mit oder ohen Preis hemgefahren ist!!

I would like to add my comments to last weekend's fantastic winter course in Bad Goisern.
The course started on Friday morning 09:00. The groups were organised into the various disciplines Beginners, Intermediate and advanced. After a heard days tuition we proceeded straight to an "open for all" concert, which included a lot of solo and band performances late into the early hours. I have to say at this point, I was really amazed how much the standard of playing has risen (Solo and Band) since the last course back in September. Well done to everyone, the hard work is paying of!!
The following day (Saturday) was another hard day of tuition and preparation for the forthcoming solo competition. For the evening programme Hans organised a trip up a mountain to visit a hut with food and drink all laid on. We had to walk the last 4 KMs pulling our sleighs behind us up a very steep track, which was covered in snow. Willie, Ginge and I were the first to reach the hut (due to the British military background?) and started to make our selves' at home with a nice well earned bottle of Zipper Austrian Beer. As the others started to arrive I was wondering if anyone though of bringing a set of pipes for the evening's entertainment. When Robert arrived empty handed I though we have missed a trick here. Then after a few beers Robert asked me where the toilets where and I told him that he should go outside and find a suitable tree. To my surprise and everyone else's Robert came back through the door playing the pipes and the evening was sorted out with endless performances from everyone on the pipes. This is certainly one way of getting a set of pipes and new reeds blown in. After a few more beers and snaps we proceeded to make our way down the mountain on our sleighs at full speed ahead. This, of course, was the highlight of the evening; everyone enjoyed it immensely with only a few minor accidents on the way down. Then it was straight to bed (for some!) in preparation for the next day.
Sunday, was a very important day for the history of piping in Austria. This was the "first solo piping and Drumming competition" to be held in Austria. The event was very well organised with excellent prizes. I was very amazed at the overall standard of playing, which made the judging sometimes quite difficult. The Austrian television where there filming all day and taking a great interest in the proceedings. This was shown on TV last Monday evening and I'm sure will create a lot of new interest, as most Austrians are not aware that such a school exists in Austria.
For the next course we are hoping to extent it to a full 4 days starting on the Saturday through to Tuesday evening. The next competition will be held on the Saturday mid afternoon followed by a full concert of solo and band performances. Hallo,
der Piping & Drumming Workshop in Bad Goisern ist jedesmal ein tolles Ereignis. Nur diesmal war es etwas ganz besonderes für mich wieder dabei zu sein. 1. weil ich bei meiner aller ersten Competition teil nahm, und 2. weil es die erste Competition in Österreich überhaubt war. Das war eine sehr tolle Erfahrung für mich.
Und das Rodeln war natürlich wieder ein Highlight, wir hatten wirklich sehr viel Spaß auf der Hütte. Sehr schade, dass alles schon wieder vorbei ist. Dieses WE verging so schnell 
Ich freue mich schon wieder auf den nächsten Workshop im September, und bin auf alle Fälle wieder dabei  |

Well done Charles and congratulations on winning 1st place in the Intermediate March Solo Piping Competition. This is a mighty achievement for your first ever solo competition!
Your personnel piping is certainly moving forward and improving very fast.
Don't forget you will have to play in the advance level (MSR) in September so start preparing for it now.

Der Beitrag wurde am Montag den 20.2.2006 ausgestrahlt.
War wieder ein tolles Wochende. Neben dem hervoragendem Workshop war vorallem auch die Competition ein voller Erfolg. Ich meine das nicht nur musikalisch, sondern auch imagemäßig. Ich glaube das vergangene Wochende wird die Piping Szene in Österreich sicherlich ein großes Stück voranbringen!

It was a very good report and should help the piping scene tremendously in Austria.
Please note, the next course in September will be 1 day longer (4 days in total). This time the competition will take place on Sunday afternoon.

hmm... na ich weiss ja nicht wer diesen beitrag da rein geben hat .... 
wer immer diesen artikel jedenfalls verfasst hat, sollte vielleicht auch das richtige datum reinschreiben und vor allem erwähnen, dass Saskia als MSR winner die eigentliche siegerin war! hui - frauenpower!!!

Tja, wenn das so ist, dann erübrigt sich wohl das Nachfragen. 
Möchte ja niemanden etwas unterstellen, aber mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit kann man sich denken wer es war.
Finde das natürlich auch übel, dass Saskia nicht erwähnt wurde.

Ich gebe zu mich sehr über diesen Beitrag gefreut zu haben, doch um etwaige Missverständnisse und Verdachtsmomente zu beseitigen, möchte ich gleich einmal klarstellen, dass ich nichts mit diesem Beitrag zu tun habe.
Des Weiteren bin ich ebenfalls der Meinung, dass es sich eigentlich gehört hätte die gesamte Rangliste zu veröffentlichen.
